Counsellor Search

Find a Counsellor
Counselling is offering a search tool that can be used on your own website. The code has been designed to be both quick and simple to implement on any website. Not only will this add a useful feature to your own website, it's also free.

To add a counsellor search to your own website, simply copy the code below into your web page.

Everyone listed in our database is a CCC Registered Counsellor, they reside within the British Isles and have agreed to abide by our Code of Conduct.

Quality, relevant results
Because search results will always open in a new window, your visitors won't be taken away from your own website. There is nothing to update because we maintain the database daily to ensure that your visitors only get quality and relevant search results.

Become a search partner
The website code will look like this:

Go Advanced and get creative !
Webmasters, you can now customise your search box, you can set the default postcode of your choice, force a text colour change, force a link colour change and force the box to become a different colour to your website background.

Default Postcode
Using the same code above you would change this:

to this:

This would set the default postcode to BD5.

Change Text Colour
You can change the colour of the text by feeding in the hexadecimal value of the colour. Lets change the text colour to Red, that's FF0000 in hex.

To help you, a list of hexadecimal colour codes can be found lower down this page.

To continue you would change this:

to this:

This would set the default postcode to BD5 and text to red.

Change Link Colour
You can change the colour of the link by feeding in the hexadecimal value of the colour. Lets change the link colour to Pink, that's FF00FF in hex.

To continue you would change this:

to this:

This would set the default postcode to BD5, text to red and link to pink.

Change Background Colour
If you do not set the background colour, the search box will automatically inherit the background colour of the webpage upon which it is displayed. You do not need to set the background colour.

If you really do want to force a background colour, you can change the colour of the background by feeding in the hexadecimal value of the colour. Lets change the background colour to Black, that's 000000 in hex.

To continue you would change this:

to this:

This would set the default postcode to BD5, text to red, link to pink and background to Light Yellow.

If you've followed this tutorial through each of the sections above, your search box would look something like this:

The whole code used to generate the above Search Box would be:

We suggest that you use the above code as a starting point for any modifications.

Problems & Support
Please ensure that you're inserting the code as 'code' and not as 'text'. We are unable to support user installation of this code, sorry.
