Find a Free Counsellor
'Counselling' is a registered charity which introduces those able to offer free help to those who are seeking help with emotional health issues. All our counsellors have agreed to work in accordance with the 'Counselling Code of Conduct' and are subject to an Independent Complaints Procedure.
PLEASE NOTE:
a) COUNSELLING LTD IS NOT A COUNSELLING ORGANISATION BUT A COUNSELLING CHARITY
b) WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT COUNSELLING SERVICES WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE. THIS IS BECAUSE THE CHARITY IS DEPENDENT ON THE GOOD-WILL OF ITS COUNSELLOR MEMBERS TO OFFER THIS FREE SERVICE.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we have had to temporarily suspend the 0800 phone referral system.
We will use this time of suspension to carry out a re-organisation and re-design of the entire referral system and hope to re-launch this in the near future.

your name, home address, email details, telephone number, NI number and the benefits you receive and you
will then be contacted.
To apply you MUST be in receipt of either, Income Based Income Support, Income Based Pension Credit, Income Based Jobseekers Allowance OR Incapacity Benefit.
Only individual clients should apply - we do not accept
referrals from support organisations
When you contact us please
- state brief reasons why you require counselling
- give your age, marital status and number of people in your household.
If NOT receiving INCOME-BASED Jobseekers benefits then please send evidence (non-returnable photocopies please) of monthly income received in the household included in your request for free counselling.
It will be at the discretion of 'Counselling' whether to forward your request to any potential counsellors and it may be that a contribution towards counselling costs may be required by any available counsellors.
If we can find a counsellor in your local area who has a vacancy, we will pass their details on to you so that you can arrange your own face-to-face counselling with them directly. Any contract entered into will be directly between the client and the counsellor, and will not be with the 'Counselling' charity itself. We have a network of counsellors throughout the British Isles who, from time to time, are able to offer free counselling to those in need.
Our service is still developing and may be limited in some areas where demand exceeds capacity, however, if you are unable to pay for face-to-face counselling we may be able to help.
