Important
NotesBefore contacting us please read these notes:
The counselling website is visited by thousands of people on a daily basis. This activity generates a great deal of email, over the years we have given our time freely to assist those who contact us, however we find that sometimes we are unable to help because we don't offer the type of advice which visitors are seeking. To save your time, and ours, these notes are provided to help you:
Advice giving and recommendations
We do not offer career advice; this includes making counselling course or placement recommendations and counsellor or supervisor recommendations. We maintain a public list of registered counsellors. This database register is searchable from our website.
Training support
We do not answer questions to your training course assignments. Any information which we choose to to make available will be published on our website. That said, you may send a request for us to publish specific information. We will read all requests and use the feedback to adapt our website.
Professional business advice and funding
We do not advise others how to establish their own charities or limited companies. Our own funds are limited and only cover our basic and minimal running costs, we therefore do not hold funds that are available for release, even if your idea is a 'good cause'.
Lost documents and information
We do not provide information by email which has already been written and made publicly available on our website, please check our website thoroughly before contacting us. To save your time, most documents that our users can't find are, to their surprise, later found
here.
Link exchanges
We do not participate in link exchange schemes, only through our own members and by way of acknowledging those individuals or organisations that have sponsored a specific cost of our organisation.
Membership
We do not accept CCC Registered Counsellor membership from anyone who resides outside the British Isles. If you wish to join us, please click the 'Information' link on the left. Look carefully through the documents and you will find registration information, details about joining us and a secure online application form.
Search engines
We allow search engines to index our public database, however, other than being a well established counselling charity and trusted web resource, we do not have any 'special' relationship with these search-companies. We aim to ensure that our web pages are accessible, but we do not have control over how other websites may rank your member page or any website to which it is linked. We do not offer email advice on search engine optimization, search engine placement or web design.
Disclosure of personal data
With regards to affiliate information displayed on our website, we are unable to fulfill requests for additional personal data to third parties. Our affiliates are fully able to control the disclosure of their own personal data on our website and therefore if they're not displaying their contact details, in all likelihood they do not wish to be contacted. We respect our members’ privacy and have a legal obligation under the Data Protection Act not to hand out personal and private details.
Feedback
We love to get feedback, it helps us to know what we're doing well and which areas may need improvement. If you wish to help us in that way, why not send some balanced feedback? Listing three things you like about us and what we do and three things that you believe we could improve.
Thank you for reading -
we look forward to your message.
